Great Tips For Dining Room Lighting In Your Home

With respect to dining room lighting, it is able to change the atmosphere of a special event or just a quiet normal evening at home with the family. You can incorporate modern, contemporary styles into the lighting in your dining room.

The lighting over the dining room table is important. If you want to make a statement and a focal area, add in a crystal chandelier or even a stained glass chandelier. Another type of chandelier that works well is lead crystal for a more contemporary look. There is no need to add a lot of  lamps in the dining room unless you are lighting up a small serving table that is stationary. On this table add a small Tiffany lamp or a Schobek lamp.

When buying a chandelier for your dining room, compare pricing, lamping, and style. Do you want fluorescent lighting or a normal bulb? Are you after a modern or antique atmosphere? These fixtures range in price from around $100 to $1000 easily, so make sure that you budget accordingly.

I personally like to have a more colorful shade of colors that prisms create and dining table lighting that incorporates crystal chandelier prisms is perfect for that decorating effect.

If you have a large dining room, make sure that you have a chandelier that has at least 10 bulbs so that the lighting will arch all over the table area.

The area around the table should also be lit. Using semi flush or flush mount fixtures will provide the correct amount of illumination. Try to make the style match that of the lighting that is suspended over the dining room table.

If you have a tall centerpiece, create lighting that will provide a soft effect on the center of the table to create a nice focal point for your family occasions in the dining area.

One thing I noticed when people are trying to decorate their dining room, is that they forget that a lot of the items such as an chandelier made for a dining room you can actually place it in your bedroom which is what I did. Throws me off sometimes looking up at the crystals, but it gives sleeping a new twist.

For my dining room table, I bought a chandelier that is called the shabby elegance candleholder style. I just love it and the only problem I had with it was that in order to add tapered candles, you have to use some hot glue. Without the glue, the candles do not seem to sit totally upright.

I just wanted to comment on the last comment that was made, about the same type of chandelier and it's not bronze. It's a gray color. I thought I was getting a chandelier with a chocolate finish. It was delivered quite fast but it did arrive with minor scratches so I can only give it a 3/5.

Hi, I wanted to explain just how pleased I am with my chandelier purchase then I made the other day. The brand is Hardware House and it's a 21" x 18" chandelier and it is oil rubbed bronze. It replaces the old one that I bought that is gold in color and for some reason I no longer like gold:) I bought the fixture on Amazon and the shipping was free.
