Using A Halogen Floor Lamp To Enhance Your Home Decor

It is easy to find a halogen floor lamp. They can be purchased at Walmart and at Target stores. Nevertheless, you should purchase one that reflects your style such as modern or contemporary. Most of these floor lamps are very tall and slender, but you can get a model that is curved at the top or that has a swing arm for better control of lighting.

Halogen lighting is becoming more popular since it produces a different type of light that makes your living room, dining room or even bedroom more unique. The most popular wattage used is 300w and theses bulbs can readily purchased at any lighting fixture store.

Style-wise, halogen lamps tend to light up a room upwards though the use of plate on the top of the fixture. This type of floor lamp is called a torchiere and it arches light over a large area of a ceiling.

A great feature of a halogen floor lamp is that it can be dimmed using a dimmer switch. The ambiance of a room can thus be easily altered. A normal brass floor lamp is not able to be dimmed since it uses a normal light bulb.

I personally like halgoen lamps since they can accentuate a piece of furniture that they are next to by drawing in the eye through a light funnel that points to an object.

If you wish to investigate brands of these lamps, check out the following companies that manufacture them : Lite Source, Adesso and Holtkoetter. Holtkoetter produces a great satin nickel lamp that goes well with the Murano lighting style.

Another type of halogen floor lamp that is becoming popular is the pharmacy floor lamp. It is modern styled fixture that can be matched with decorative wall sconces that are framed in black brushed metal.

I'm not sure about you but I find that the newest type of halogen floor lamp is not as bright as the older type was. Maybe I am just being paranoid, I wish that someone else will comment on this.

Talk about an easy lmap to assemble, I bought a basic polished steel finish halogen floor lamp. All that you have to do is to screw in three sections and then add the light bulb in you are finished.

If you're looking for a good Halogen Floor Lamp, check out the good Earth Lincoln Park park torchiere with opal glass diffuser. It is under $50 and it's a very effective lamp. I bought it because I had another lamp that wasn't working anymore, and that this type lasts a long time because the other one worked for 10 years. The shipping was free and it still arrived in perfect condition. It took me about 20 minutes to get it together totally by myself.
